Don’t worry, be happy: Nemi Chigoji visits Hesston

After many announcements and prayer requests, Pastor Nemi Chigoji and his Caribbean brothers (Tyler Yoder, Josiah Bechler, Luke Ropp, and Redfa Titihalawa)  took the stage at chapel on Wednesday. During their performance, sophomore CJ Chukwukelu joined them on stage dancing and back flipping along with the song.

“These last few days here have been an incredible blessing to me,” Chigoji said of Hesston College.

Chigoji’s chapel was part of a four day visit as pastor-in-residence with two themes in mind: “Don’t waste tomorrow” and “Don’t worry.”

“If you believe that God is going to take care of you, then why worry?” said Chigoji.

According to Chigoji, there are three things to keep in mind about worry: it is unhelpful, unreasonable, and unhealthy. Yet, many of us worry about finances, relationships, and health. Chigoji advised his audience to let go of worries and live one day at a time.

“The more you understand about God, the easier it is for you to trust him,” said Chigoji.
