Freshman Muoch Keak (Lincoln, Neb.) and sophomore Ryan Dungan (Kechi, Kan.) just finished an impressive cross country season. It culminated Saturday, Nov. 8 at the NJCAA national championship in Lubbock, Texas.

Keak finished 113 out of 256 runners with his time of 27.59 in the 8K nationals race. Dungan came in 134th with a time of 28.22.

Keak, who has been running cross country for five years, placed in nearly every one of his meets this season. He’s quick to credit his coaches for his success.

“My coaches were really helpful and they guided me throughout the entire season,” Keak said.

His teammates are another source of inspiration.

“Our team had great guys that pushed each other and in result, improved our team ranking and our individual times,” Keak said.

Coach Gerry Sieber, commented on Dungan and Keak’s success in a recent publicity piece for Hesston College.

“Muoch and Ryan had good seasons,” said Sieber. “Ryan improved significantly from last year and provided excellent leadership for his team. Muoch ran well for a freshman and will undoubtedly improve next year. They represented our team and school very well.”
