Larks softball ready for competition in 2015

by Kymee Noll – Horizon Editor-in-Chief

Sixth-year Hesston College Softball coach Andrew Sharp is excited for his deep pitching staff and competitive lineup for the 2015 season.

“We have more multi-threat players than last year,” Sharp said. “I think we have several all-region caliber players that will allow us to compete well in the region. We should be able to put a good defense on the field every time out.”

Three games in Arizona over spring break will be a highlight for the season. Sharp says this will be a nice non-region challenge for the Larks. Back-to-back games against Kansas City Kansas Community College and Highland (Kan.) Community College will be an important early season test. Another huge game for both the team and fans is a home game against Hutchinson Community College on March 24 at 3 p.m.

The Larks have been working hard in the offseason and Sharp is proud of where the team is physically.

“We’re in a good spot physically,” Sharp said. “Our players are ready to get the season going.”

The Larks next game starts at 1 p.m. at Kansas City Kansas Community College on Friday, Feb. 27.
