Hesston, Kansas may be a small town, but it’s still hard to find things to do when you don’t know your way around. “A little taste of Newton” is a list of fun and popular places that are not just convenient but student-friendly as well.
Et Cetera: This is the place to go if you are looking for anything from housewear to clothing. “They have an abundance of things to choose from and is a good place for college students to go if you are looking for cheap and good clothing.”- Karina McCormick, freshman.
Chisholm Trail 8 Theatre: Movies have become a common nightlife attraction for many students. The Chisholm Trail 8 Movie Theatre offers a discount, $5.00 with student ID. This is a steal for students on a budget and looking for something to do after homework.
Applebee's Grill + Bar: It’s not a secret that Applebee's half-priced appetizers on weeknights are a popular choice for students. “They were a refreshing choice to have so you didn’t have to pay for a full meal.” - Marta Jantzi, freshman
Newell’s Truck Stop: Newell’s is a place for the night owls. Need a good home-cooked meal at midnight? Well, this truck stop diner has got you covered.
Walmart: Walmart has become a staple in the Hesston College community for all your needs. “Walmart is a great place to go for late night runs if we need anything and it’s the only place close enough besides going to Wichita.” - Mikalya Ognissanti, freshman.
Mojos Coffee Bar: Everyone knows that coffee is a major part of a college student’s life. When it comes to early morning classes or late night study sessions it can be the one thing that gets them through the day or night. Mojo’s is a fantastic place with fantastic coffee located on Bethel College campus in North Newton.
