Faculty/Staff Profile: A Q and A with Kevin Wilder

Q. What do you like about Hesston?

A. The informal environment that the campus has and how the teachers interact with the students.

Q. What unusual things interests you that students wouldn’t think you would like?

A. I like 80’s alternative punk rock.

Q. What is one crazy thing you did in college?

A. I stole all the rolls of toilet paper from all the guys’ dorms and left one for each floor and there were three floors.

Q. Growing up, what were your three favorite three TV shows?

A. “Johnny Quest,” “Scooby Doo,” and “Leave It to Beaver.”

Q. Did you ever find yourself be so stressed you wanted to quit something you were doing?

A. Yes, I dropped out of a Master of Arts Christian Education Program for four years and came back to school to get it. It took me awhile but I finally got it.

Q. Are you a big sports fan and which teams do you like?

A. Yes, I love college football. I am a big fan of the Norte Dame Fighting Irish and in college basketball I love the Indiana Hoosiers.

Q. What is the one subject you love to teach to students?

A. General Psychology because it makes an interesting class every week. Every class topic is different and it makes the class very interesting.

Q. What’s the grossest thing you have ever eaten in your life?

A. Goat kidney because it was very slimy. “Meaty Jello”.

Q. What’s the one thing you would like the students to know about your classes?

A. If you put in effort in my class you will do well.

Q. Do you think that a lark is intimidating or not scary at all?

A. It’s not intimidating at all but it could be really annoying around your head.
